About Linda Guhe
My Approach
In the most general terms, psychotherapy is an experience where individuals can learn, sometimes for the very first time, what they think, feel, and want. The experience of getting to know yourself – what you think, feel, and want enhances autonomy and self-esteem at any age, young and old alike.
When detached from inner thoughts, feelings, and desires, the mind can become vulnerable to succumbing to a kind of mindless chatter. Before long, thoughts such as who said what to whom, going over past events, and anticipating the future race through the mind, hijacking valuable attention. This kind of mindless chatter can occur at any age. Left unchecked, this kind of meaningless, rumination can drain enormous amounts of energy, and at worst, lead to emotional and physical exhaustion. As a result, problems such as depression, anxiety, weight gain, addictions, and smoking may develop.
At that point, we may zone out and further disconnect from ourselves and others with distractions such as mindless TV watching, surfing the Internet, and/or over-indulging in food and drink as a means of escaping the noise and confusion of a loud, cluttered, unruly mind.
Wanting a way out of this mental confusion is often a reason for seeking out a psychotherapist. However, with psychotherapy alone, it often takes some time before experiencing relief. Hypnosis, which is solution-focused, on the other hand, provides a necessary therapeutic structure so that a calm mind-body state that brings relief can be achieved, reached quickly and efficiently. Hypnosis is about getting access to our own natural capacities. As a hypnotherapist, my job is to guide you through the process of discovering, recovering, and utilizing your own capacities for inner naturalistic methods of coping. As a result, a new sense of self-control, confidence, and competence can replace old fears and self-doubt.
Too often, psychotherapy such as a psycho-dynamic model, which consists of exploring unconscious aspects of a problem, can provide too little structure which can lead to getting lost in an unwieldy process. And a cognitive-behavioral model can provide too much structure, limiting opportunity for valuable self-exploration.
My approach to psychotherapy, however, is informed by both psycho-dynamic and cognitive-behavioral theories which I integrate into a mind-body clinical hypnosis approach that is solution-focused. MindBodyClinicalHypnosis can help with anxiety, depression, weight loss, and smoking cessation, and many more problems.
During the span of treatment, most individuals can satisfactorily find solutions for achieving some control over their problem or condition. Hypnosis used as a tool helps to ground and stabilize the mind and body in a way that actually facilitates inner exploration and problem solving. I believe my approach offers a structured and comprehensive form of treatment that is focused on mind-body healing and relief.
A caveat I want to share is to BEWARE OF LAY HYPNOTISTS who treat problems beyond their expertise, and in some cases, beyond their legal right. We have heard of situations in which an individual not qualified to treat something like depression (with or without hypnosis) is accused of practicing without a license.
I am proud to say that you can be assured that MindBodyClinicalHypnosis offers Ethical, Expert Hypnosis you can trust!

All conditions that may be helped using Hypnotic Techniques also require the use of commitment – Hypnotherapy is not magic and can only help you to make changes if you have a strong desire to change and put in a maximum effort.
